Lapin Apparel Limited was incorporated in 1991 with headquarter in Hong Kong. The incorporation of Lapin Apparel Limited was an actual realization of the changing economic trend in Hong Kong. More than two decades ago, Robert Lee, the founder of the Lapin, already started apparel manufacturing with the incorporation of the Bagutta Garment Limited in Hong Kong in 1978. With labor cost advantage, dedicated management and good quality assurance, Bagutta Garment Limited rapidly grew in size with over 2,000 employees and products selling all over the world. To maintain its competitiveness, Bagutta Garment Limited set up branch factories in Jamaica, China and Philippines.

In the late 1980's, the economy of Hong Kong was undergoing a structural change, shifting from manufacturing to service industry. Competitions also came from the lower labor cost countries around the region. The manufacture of wearing apparel in Asia has gradually shifted production to the low cost countries. Located in the center of Asia with easy access to different parts of this region, we believed that Hong Kong is going to be developed as a coordinating center for the production around this region. With this belief, we shifted our business focus from manufacturing to product coordination service. So in 1991, we officially incorporated the Lapin Apparel Limited.
 

 

Recognizing the increasing needs of customers looking for hassle-free importation of merchandise from off-shore countries, we have set up our offices in Shanghai and Los Angeles, and later in Toronto, to work more closely with our Hong Kong Headquarter. This triangular structure can provide instant updated information of the order progress and at the same time facilitates customers on the issues of transportation and customs clearance.
